Buying a puppy
The appeal of purchasing a well-bred pup is the fun of watching your Greyhound grow from a baby into a racing athlete, all within the space of a year. It is a time that will likely fly by with memorable milestones along the way when naming your dog, evaluating breaking in reports and, of course, its racetrack debut.
Allow a budget of $10,000 to cover costs of purchase, rearing, education, and preparation to go to a trainer. After this, there is little to pay other than vet fees if you have entered the standard 50/50 training arrangement.
